How to make ISI your group?

ISI is your place to plug in!  Interface with other internationals and Americans as well!  Get the most out of your UVA experience!!!  Here’s how…

Attend International Friendship Nights (IFN). — At least once a month, ISI hosts a real, home cooked American meal in a real American home. Besides a meal, we have games, informational talks, and “How-To” lessons on everything from American cuisine, to American slang to conversational English.

Attend monthly ISI activities. — Throughout the year we host a wide array of fun activities that help you  connect with other international students and get you off grounds for a change of pace and a change of scenery. They include things like a trip to Washington D.C., hikes in the Blue Ridge Mountains, horse back riding, ice skating, a picnic in the country, and white water rafting.

Get involved by volunteering and leading in the ISI group — ISI runs best when students are involved and there are lots of ways you can be involved more than just showing up to events. There’s a team of students who are looking for volunteers to help with events, computer expertise with our various  web communication tools, photography, and many other possibilities. Click here to sign up to be a volunteer or email us for more info on getting involved.
